December Blog Challenge: A Day In The Life

Thursday, December 3, 2015

I had such high hopes for today's blog post, but of course life got in the way.  I was going to take a picture of my three dogs this morning as I was getting ready for work and then head to Starbucks to take a picture of my macchiato like a complete basic bitch.  But I got up late, rushed around to get ready and flew to work.  But you know what?!  That's a typical day in my life.

My week days usually consist of checking both my personal and work cell phones when I wake up and answering texts and emails while I have my morning coffee.  All while I'm doing this, I'm feeding the dogs and letting them outside.  This morning I had some laundry to do, so I managed to squeeze that in before I head out the door.

Since I wasn't on time and the nearest Starbucks is 15-20 minutes away from me, I opted to go to a local bagel shop that serves some pretty great coffee.  As I'm on my way to work, I get a text from a client saying they're there for their appointment at 11:15 and the door is locked.  Well, I had them scheduled for 12:00, but accidentally confirmed them with the time of 11:15 - don't know where I got that from!

The rest of my day will consist of working and then I'll head home to my husband and fur babies.  My day is pretty boring to some, but that's the way I like it!  What's a day like in your life?!

December Blog Challenge: Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Yay! Today is the first day of my December blog challenge.  Today's post is: Meaning Behind Your Blog Name.  This one is super easy for me - and probably pretty obvious for everyone else.  I am obsessed with handbags and my love for them is quite evident.  The name of my blog came easy for me because I knew I wanted the focus of it to be on purses and accessories.  I literally wanted a "page" dedicated to bags, and there you have it - The Bag Page.

Cyber Monday: What I Ordered

Monday, November 30, 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I'm off today, so naturally I'm on the couch in my PJs shopping online - AND it just so happens to be Cyber Monday.  My email inbox was overloaded with sale emails, but what caught my eye was Wildfox's sale.

If you use the code: NEBULA, you get 30% off everything, including all sale.  I bought the four shirts pictured above and they were all already marked down.  I ended up paying $166 FOR EVERYTHING with shipping + tax.  Anyone who is familiar with Wildfox knows that is a huge deal.  Did you do any shopping this Cyber Monday?  What did you get?!

PS - stay tuned because tomorrow is day one of my December blog challenge!

Saks Sale: My Picks

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Saks is having an awesome sale right now and these are my faves!  Can you guess which one I just ordered?!  The Givenchy striped Antigona tote is 30% off right now and the Gucci Soho is 50% off.

If you guessed the Givenchy - YOU'RE RIGHT!  I have been eyeing this bag for a while, but never got around to getting it.  When I found out it was on sale, I knew I HAD to have it.  It hasn't come in yet, but I have a feeling it will be making its way to one of my Featured Bag Friday posts sometime soon!

Featured Bag Friday

Friday, November 20, 2015

Yay! It's FRIDAY and today I am featuring my only Givenchy bag - the classic Antigona.  Mine is in the medium size and in the color fuschia.  I do recall them having a large size in this style, but - to my knowledge - they are no longer making it.

At first glance, the leather on this bag looks really fussy, but let me tell you it is not in the least.  I've had it out in the rain {not purposely} and it held up great!  It features a super smooth, large zipper on the top, two top handles and a {nonremovable} shoulder strap.  The gold hardware on mine makes the bag look extra lux!  I am personally a huge fan of gold.  And the amount that you can fit in this bag is unreal.  I watched YouTube videos on it before I took the plunge and I heard a few people refer to it as the Mary Poppins bag because of how much you can carry.  It really can turn into a bottomless pit if you allow it to.

The Antigona has recently become one of the It bags in the designer handbag realm and I've seen so many pictures of celebrities carrying theirs online and in magazines.  I think it has joined the ranks with other handbags as classics - like the Balenciaga City, the Louis Vuitton Speedy and the Celine Luggage - to name a few.

On my YouTube binge-watching streak of reviews on this style, I even heard it referred to as a "basic bitch" bag because of how many people own one.  What's your opinion on it?  Too basic for you or classic?!

Featured Bag Friday

Friday, November 13, 2015

It's FRIDAY and that means it's Featured Bag Friday.  Sorry I slacked last week - I had a SUPER busy week at work and totally forgot to post - but this one is worth the wait, I promise.  This is definitely my new favorite bag and holy grail handbag of the moment.

Let me tell you my story about this beautiful lady.  A YouTuber/blogger that I follow had this bag and by the time I saw it, it was already sold out company-wide.  With Chanel, when a piece sells out, it's gone for good- unless it's one of the classics.  This one isn't.  It was from last fall's Supermarket collection.  It's called the CC Delivery, and this is the larger size.  I was SO bummed that I missed out on this beauty.  I stalked Fashionphile {almost daily} and even created an alert, but none ever popped up.

I've posted before that I was recently in Hawaii for my honeymoon.  Well, it turns out that Hawaii has a different inventory system for Chanel because it's not on the mainland.  So when my sales associate searched for this bag, no inventory came up.  I was at a shopping center in Honolulu and I said to myself let me just see if they happen to have the CC Delivery.  And it turns out, they did!  I could not believe it.  They had multiple bags, actually.  They even had a few color choices and different sizes.  I had my heart set on the black, larger size.

I've barely stopped using this bag since I took her home.  I am more obsessed with it now that I have it than I was when I was frantically searching the web for it.  It is so practical, so functional and SO pretty.  The front pocket opens up, there's a back slip pocket - like on every classic Chanel flap bag - and there's a zippered pocket and two slip pockets inside the bag.  There's also the option to carry it handheld with the handles or wear it on your shoulder with the double chain strap.

I do have a small classic flap bag, but even the largest size is too small for me.  I carry around an 8x10 appointment book, so my preference for bags is one that can fit my book in it.  And this bag does that with ease.  I think the plastic handles - that are supposed to duplicate a shopping bag - are so chic and cool.  It's such a fun twist on a very traditional handbag!

My Rainy Day Go-To Bag

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

I don't know about you guys, but I have an irrational fear of taking certain bags out in any sort of inclement weather.  This nylon Prada bag has been my go-to for rainy {and even snowy} days since I picked it up last fall.  I snagged it for a steal while I was in Florida last October.  It is hands down the most durable, low maintenance bag I own.  Who says you have to sacrifice style for functionality?  Not Prada, obviously!

I know some people probably can't justify buying a designer handbag that is made out of nylon, but having a bag that you don't have to worry about is one of the reasons why it is a good idea.  You don't have to fuss over it or worry about a single rain drop or snowflake ruining the leather.  There is some leather on the bag {the handles and removable strap}, but it is pretreated leather, so it holds up if water touches it.

{In my first picture, you couldn't see my little bag charm I had on there.  I know he's supposed to be a bear, but I call him a little pig. What do you guys think he looks like?!}

Featured Bag Friday

Friday, October 30, 2015

I hope everyone is having an amazing Friday and had an even better week.  My new weekly segment is Featured Bag Friday, where I am going to show you guys my bag of the week.  Make sure to check back here every Friday to see what bag I feature that week!

I am kicking off FBF - not to get confused with Flashback Friday - with one of my newest additions to my limited edition Louis Vuitton Speedy family: the Totem Speedy from the fall 2015 launch!  This style came in two colors the magenta {pictured} and flamingo {a coral and magenta combo}.  The detail on this bag is so incredibly amazing and the colors are so fun to look at.  I especially love the fact that it's treated leather, so this isn't a bag I have to baby or switch out when it's raining.

The whole Totem collection is such a fun twist on the classic monogram that's so wearable in day-to-day life and I can't stop obsessing over it.  I also purchased the bag charm {pictured} when I was in Hawaii and it goes perfectly with this color Speedy.  The bag charm opens up to a mirror - this is a new style charm that LV is doing and I'm loving it.

Aside from the Speedy and charm, I got the Neverfull MM in coral - so I have a bag in each style and each color from the collection - a key pouch and I just ordered the coin pouch.  I'm sure I'll feature these other items in a post soon.  Be sure to follow me on Instagram @thebagpage for more pics of my collection.

Sunglasses I Can't Stop Obsessing Over

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Aside from my obvious love for handbags, my second favorite accessory is sunglasses.  I probably own 20-30+ {maybe more, who really knows} pairs of designer sunglasses.  Up until I discovered Quay, I was over-wearing my limited edition Dior Mystere.  I kept seeing the Quay {pronounced "key", did you know that?!} all over Instagram + YouTube.  These sunglasses are so hard to get your hands on!  For months and months, I was checking Quay's website hoping they would come back in stock.  Finally, Urban Outfitters set out an email saying you could preorder the black and blue pair.  Obviously, I jumped at the chance to finally get a pair of my own.

They came in only a few days before I left for my two-week long honeymoon in Hawaii and I was SO EXCITED.  I brought probably five different pairs of sunglasses on my honeymoon and I never took the My Girls off.  Fast forward a month after the honeymoon, and I was still wearing the same pair of sunglasses - which is so unheard of for me!  While I was away in Hawaii, I got an email from The Trend Boutique saying they got a limited stock of My Girl in different colors in - so I ordered the other two pairs pictured because obviously I fell in love with the style.

A few weeks after that, I got ANOTHER email from The Trend Boutique about the new Quay x Shay collection - it's a special designer collab that Quay does.  I own another {now sold-out} pair of matte black, cat-eye Quay x Shay and I am obsessed with those too.  When I saw the black + blue lens aviators, I obviously needed those in my life.

I have not stopped wearing my Quay sunglasses, even though I have SO MANY other pairs.  If you're not familiar with Quay, check out their website here and get ready to fall in love.  The best part?!  All of these sunglasses were under $80 each.  The quality is amazing and they are super stylish!  I promise you won't be disappointed.

Calling all PSL fans!

Thursday, October 22, 2015

A few weeks ago, I was scrolling through Instagram - because let's face it, aren't we always?! - and I saw someone post a picture of this AMAZING knit PSL coffee cup sleeve.  Apparently, the Starbucks goddesses created a secret society just for us pumpkin spice latte lovers.  Can we say basic bitches unite?!

All I had to do was retweet @TheRealPSL by tagging a friend and fill out a form and they promised me I would become a member of this so-called pumpkin loving society and my sleeve would be on its way to me.  They weren't lying! To be honest, I totally forgot about it until my package arrived.

The sad news is, it looks like they are completely sold out of sleeves.  I would keep checking their website and keep your pumpkin flavored fingers crossed in hopes that they'll restock!  If not, there's always next fall.. let's hope they make this a thing again.

After taking a half a year break from my freshly-launched blog, I am happy to say that I'm back.  I spent my summer working, planning my wedding, getting married and on my honeymoon.  Now that I am a happily married newlywed back from our fabulous two-week vacation in Hawaii, I am going to dedicate more time to my favorite thing in the world: handbags!  I have so many exciting things to share and new plans in the works, so stay tuned.  For now, enjoy this picture of my husband and I on our wedding day.

Girlfriends + Vuitton

Monday, April 13, 2015

I hope everyone is doing well and their winters are FINALLY coming to an end! Sorry I've been MIA this past month, work has been CRAZY!

I have some exciting bag news {because what other kind of news is there?!} to share with you guys.  Yesterday, my girlfriend {Lauren} and I went to the closest Louis Vuitton store to us, which is in Natick, MA.  We live in RI and there are currently no LV stores in the state.  I was actually going for moral support as Lauren was getting a new bag.  I have a huge LV Spring '15 collection bag haul to share with you guys, so I was supposed to be on a ban!  Well, that didn't last.

When we walked in, my sales associate was helping someone else, so we were just looking around while we waited for her.  Lauren knew she wanted a Damier Ebene Neverfull GM and I had a few bag charms that Irene {my SA} was holding for me.  I also had two bag charms with me {which I will share in my big haul} that I wanted to get hot stamped.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the most beautiful bag I have ever seen - the limited edition Dora MM in the black + red monogram canvas print.  I saw this bag on Instagram {because I love following LV lovers} and on a YouTube video and I wasn't sold on it.  I do remember the YouTuber that I watched mentioning that you had to see this bag in person, and now I totally get what she meant.

I fell HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE with this bag.  I'm sure I've said that a million times before, but there is just something so , so, so special about this bag.  I plan on doing a more in depth review - maybe even a YouTube video - once she arrives.  Since we live in RI and there is no LV store in our state, if we have the items shipped to us, we don't have to pay tax - which on this bag was more than one of my bag charms - so I couldn't pass that up!

Lauren ended up getting the bag her heart was set on, even though she fell in LVoe with the new turquoise Alma PM.  She added that baby to her wish list for now!

Enjoy the pics of our girls day at LV!

Feeling Very Vuitton

Monday, March 2, 2015

Just because it's snowing and 20 degrees out all winter doesn't mean you can't be stylish, right?!  By now it's obvious I have a Louis Vuitton obsession.. and today, I am all decked out in LV on this snowy New England Monday.

I got the rainboots a few years back + they are AMAZING.  A little pricey for a pair of boots, I know, but the quality is outstanding!  I wear them all winter + rainy spring long and they still look brand new.

Now on to THE BAG! My bag of the day is the Vernis Alma GM in pomme d'amour.  I purchased this when I was in Rome at the Maison.  It was my Holy Grail bag at the time (all bag lovers will appreciate that your HG bag changes a lot) and to be able to buy it in Italy at the Maison was literally a dream come true.

They've since changed the sizing on the Vernis Almas, so the GM is not available anymore.  However, it does come in BB (small), PM (medium) + MM (large).  There isn't a huge size difference between the now discontinued GM and its replacement, the MM.  It's only a matter of a few inches and the bags would have to be side by side for one to even notice.

I hope everyone has a fabulous week and if you're stuck in New England or anywhere snowy, you stay safe + warm!

Stay fabulous xo,

Welcome to The Bag Page!

Sunday, February 1, 2015

The Bag Page has been a dream of mine for quite some time and I decided to make 2015 the year I dream bigger and chase after those dreams.  Along with the help of my fabulous graphic designer, I was able to take my blog from a thought inside my head to reality.

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Cassandra and I am 28 years old.  I currently live in my home state of Rhode Island.  When I’m not blogging - because let’s face it, I just started – I am operating my two small businesses.  I have Glistening Goddesses, a spray tanning salon, and Goddess Closet, a consignment boutique; both businesses are located in Rhode Island.

I discovered my love for handbags at a young age and have been addicted pretty much ever since.  My absolute favorite luxury handbag designer is Louis Vuitton.  I love Chanel – who doesn’t – and I am also recently obsessed with Céline.  If you love handbags and accessories as much as I do, then I hope you LOVE this blog!
