Cyber Monday: What I Ordered

Monday, November 30, 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I'm off today, so naturally I'm on the couch in my PJs shopping online - AND it just so happens to be Cyber Monday.  My email inbox was overloaded with sale emails, but what caught my eye was Wildfox's sale.

If you use the code: NEBULA, you get 30% off everything, including all sale.  I bought the four shirts pictured above and they were all already marked down.  I ended up paying $166 FOR EVERYTHING with shipping + tax.  Anyone who is familiar with Wildfox knows that is a huge deal.  Did you do any shopping this Cyber Monday?  What did you get?!

PS - stay tuned because tomorrow is day one of my December blog challenge!

Saks Sale: My Picks

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Saks is having an awesome sale right now and these are my faves!  Can you guess which one I just ordered?!  The Givenchy striped Antigona tote is 30% off right now and the Gucci Soho is 50% off.

If you guessed the Givenchy - YOU'RE RIGHT!  I have been eyeing this bag for a while, but never got around to getting it.  When I found out it was on sale, I knew I HAD to have it.  It hasn't come in yet, but I have a feeling it will be making its way to one of my Featured Bag Friday posts sometime soon!

Featured Bag Friday

Friday, November 20, 2015

Yay! It's FRIDAY and today I am featuring my only Givenchy bag - the classic Antigona.  Mine is in the medium size and in the color fuschia.  I do recall them having a large size in this style, but - to my knowledge - they are no longer making it.

At first glance, the leather on this bag looks really fussy, but let me tell you it is not in the least.  I've had it out in the rain {not purposely} and it held up great!  It features a super smooth, large zipper on the top, two top handles and a {nonremovable} shoulder strap.  The gold hardware on mine makes the bag look extra lux!  I am personally a huge fan of gold.  And the amount that you can fit in this bag is unreal.  I watched YouTube videos on it before I took the plunge and I heard a few people refer to it as the Mary Poppins bag because of how much you can carry.  It really can turn into a bottomless pit if you allow it to.

The Antigona has recently become one of the It bags in the designer handbag realm and I've seen so many pictures of celebrities carrying theirs online and in magazines.  I think it has joined the ranks with other handbags as classics - like the Balenciaga City, the Louis Vuitton Speedy and the Celine Luggage - to name a few.

On my YouTube binge-watching streak of reviews on this style, I even heard it referred to as a "basic bitch" bag because of how many people own one.  What's your opinion on it?  Too basic for you or classic?!

Featured Bag Friday

Friday, November 13, 2015

It's FRIDAY and that means it's Featured Bag Friday.  Sorry I slacked last week - I had a SUPER busy week at work and totally forgot to post - but this one is worth the wait, I promise.  This is definitely my new favorite bag and holy grail handbag of the moment.

Let me tell you my story about this beautiful lady.  A YouTuber/blogger that I follow had this bag and by the time I saw it, it was already sold out company-wide.  With Chanel, when a piece sells out, it's gone for good- unless it's one of the classics.  This one isn't.  It was from last fall's Supermarket collection.  It's called the CC Delivery, and this is the larger size.  I was SO bummed that I missed out on this beauty.  I stalked Fashionphile {almost daily} and even created an alert, but none ever popped up.

I've posted before that I was recently in Hawaii for my honeymoon.  Well, it turns out that Hawaii has a different inventory system for Chanel because it's not on the mainland.  So when my sales associate searched for this bag, no inventory came up.  I was at a shopping center in Honolulu and I said to myself let me just see if they happen to have the CC Delivery.  And it turns out, they did!  I could not believe it.  They had multiple bags, actually.  They even had a few color choices and different sizes.  I had my heart set on the black, larger size.

I've barely stopped using this bag since I took her home.  I am more obsessed with it now that I have it than I was when I was frantically searching the web for it.  It is so practical, so functional and SO pretty.  The front pocket opens up, there's a back slip pocket - like on every classic Chanel flap bag - and there's a zippered pocket and two slip pockets inside the bag.  There's also the option to carry it handheld with the handles or wear it on your shoulder with the double chain strap.

I do have a small classic flap bag, but even the largest size is too small for me.  I carry around an 8x10 appointment book, so my preference for bags is one that can fit my book in it.  And this bag does that with ease.  I think the plastic handles - that are supposed to duplicate a shopping bag - are so chic and cool.  It's such a fun twist on a very traditional handbag!

My Rainy Day Go-To Bag

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

I don't know about you guys, but I have an irrational fear of taking certain bags out in any sort of inclement weather.  This nylon Prada bag has been my go-to for rainy {and even snowy} days since I picked it up last fall.  I snagged it for a steal while I was in Florida last October.  It is hands down the most durable, low maintenance bag I own.  Who says you have to sacrifice style for functionality?  Not Prada, obviously!

I know some people probably can't justify buying a designer handbag that is made out of nylon, but having a bag that you don't have to worry about is one of the reasons why it is a good idea.  You don't have to fuss over it or worry about a single rain drop or snowflake ruining the leather.  There is some leather on the bag {the handles and removable strap}, but it is pretreated leather, so it holds up if water touches it.

{In my first picture, you couldn't see my little bag charm I had on there.  I know he's supposed to be a bear, but I call him a little pig. What do you guys think he looks like?!}
